Have you ever wondered why baby clothes have pockets? Most parents put it down to the ‘cutsie’ effect. Others believe it’s for the same reasons some adult clothing have fake pockets. Which is….? For looks?
Not even a baby clothing designer can provide a definite answer to I say it comes down to any number of reasons
- a place to attach a pacifier clip
- somewhere to store little trinkets found on daily travels
- for the aesthetics
- they look pleasing to potential parental buyers
- because they are just regular clothes shrunk down
I just don’t get it. What are they going to put in their pockets? People still make looks a deciding factor of what they buy even for their babies and if it looks better with pockets because it’s more familiar then they will keep buying them.
Those in the baby clothing design and manufacture industry create garments that resemble grown up clothes, and so therefore, they make tiny pockets on them, to look real.
At the end of the day it does not mean they’re there for a functional reason.
