Can women wear regular, non-maternity leggings during pregnancy or is it unsafe?
Let’s put this concern to bed fast. Leggings are safe.
As with most regular clothing options, it comes down to what is most comfortable to you.
Many women choose not to purchase maternity clothes at all and make do with their regular wardrobe.
Some buy a few essentials like a maternity bra and maybe one or two dresses that will take them through pregnancy and be just as comfortable to wear postpartum.
If you are a lover of leggings and all things comfortable, then the biggest thing to be aware of is how tight they start to feel around your belly. Tight clothing should be avoided at all times for a number of reasons so if your regular leggings are starting to cut right across your belly you can either opt for a larger size, or switch to maternity leggings which go up and over your belly and provide plenty of support.
Every women’s pregnancy is unique and every woman carries weight differently. If you love leggings you can continue to wear them throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
