No. Wearing a belly band or maternity belt will not hurt or harm your baby. Your baby is completely protected inside your tummy. Your tight pants do not phase your baby whatsoever either. They don’t feel a thing!
There are plenty of important reasons why women wear a maternity belt or support band during pregnancy. The most important thing to consider is that your belly band fits properly. It should never leave a mark on you or hurt. If it does, try the next size up. It should feel more like spandex or a comfortable swimsuit…you’ll be aware of it hugging your skin so it’s tight enough to hold your pants up and support your belly but it won’t be hurting you or baby.
Remember too that maternity belts should not be worn for more than a few hours per day as this will make your muscles dependent on the extra support and won’t fix the issues already present (if there are). The belts will provide ongoing relief, but they will mask instead of help to fix or prevent any underlying issues.
Wear your belly band with confidence. Baby won’t know a thing!
